Headlines

To Volunteers Hope you are all raring to go in April when the yachts leave and we can start.

Treasurer required Mike Elleston (the invisible man) has been helping us for years to send our company account to Mr Brown. He is retiring now and we need someone of good character, with experience, to take over – an important role but not too onerous. Thank you Mike for setting up the Club in the first place and your continued support….

Safety boat course see events.. Fred can take about 6 candidates top whack so get in quick if you already have a power boat certificate. Peter, Anna and Tim are signed on. Email if you can do it.

Power boat course? This is up to Fred (if he has time) and YOU if you fancy it – ideal way of helping the club and fun to boot! parents and friends of BJSC sign on…… … it will be free or  very cheap

New members The waiting list is abnormally short this year so if you know of any budding sailors (11 and over) please send in names and phone numbers – e-mail address is a great bonus.

Programme Peter Chrystie is bashing out this years programme – similar to last year but date changes. Talk of a Saturday. Also rumours of More RNLI yachting that I would like us to get involved with.

Club Development The AGM is a forum to bring volunteers together with the committee so we can move forward. All helpers are encouraged to attend – not just the usual faces.

Conference So far Mike Inness and Peter Chrystie are up for this day out. With good weather it should be rewarding as it includes a go on fast dinghies and coaching – get back fired up to take on the youngsters.

Website – programme will be on the website as soon as it is written.

Compound – I have asked BYC if we can move the shed about 15 feet south of where it now sits. THEN we have a space ready made to store all our dinghies and unfettered access to the water via the big gates…..when consent is given we will need a few healthy people to shift piles of muck out of the way

Wanted – solid desk, chair and filing cabinet for registration and storage of club stuff.

Sonata Worlds – sailors can put their names on the crewing list and see what happens – see sonataworldseries.org and go to contacts page.

PROGRAMME Peter C has just written the programme which, apart from the initial meetings etc may be subject to change; changes will, of course, be on the website.

AOB As always it is my fervent desire to keep training for volunteers cheap or free – if you have funding skills please let us know.

Chris Coote deserves a special mention for getting £2500 last year and that is why we have a Feva in the compound.

Tim Corbett is keeping the website up to date so if you loose information, want to renew membership, tell friends what we do or want to find what is happening log on to brixhamjsc.co.uk

. The contact page is very good if you need to communicate with your club.
